Warum digitale Kieferorthopädie?
- Much more convenient: In contrast to conventional impressions with alginate, we can take digital impressions of your teeth. Thanks to special video technology without any radiation exposure, we scan and digitize your teeth and the surrounding structures quickly, efficiently and comfortably.
- Higher precision: Modern intraoral scanners offer impressive precision while reducing potential sources of error and enabling immediate on-screen verification of the results. The annoying repetition of incorrect impressions, which causes unnecessary inconvenience to patients and slows down the entire treatment process, is therefore a thing of the past.
- Time savings: Shorter treatment times mean less time in the orthodontist's chair.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What is a 3D printer?

What is a 3D printer used for?
We use the 3D printer to create a model of your teeth from our digital impressions using a biocompatible material. This material is environmentally friendly and reliable. The brace can then be fabricated on the printed dental model.
How does 3D printing dental technology work?
First, we create a digital dental impression with the intraoral scanner in order to create a print file for the 3D printer. With our filament printers, the material is heated and liquefied in the nozzle. Next, it is applied in layers to the worktop and then cooled to harden.
How long does a digital dental impression take?
The tooth scan with the intraoral scanner itself only takes 2-4 minutes. The duration of a digital tooth print depends on the object size and the selected settings.
These factors shorten or lengthen the printing time accordingly, as a rule a print takes a few hours and the printers run overnight.
